I have a weird problem with distcc-3.1-r4 on arm...
if I use the init script it comes up with
distccd failed to start
so I increased the loglevel and got:
| Code: | [distccd] (dcc_socket_listen) ERROR: socket creation failed: Permission denied
[rc-scripts] ERROR: distccd failed to start |
If I run it as root like "distccd --daemon --allow 192.168.0.0/24
there is no output, but also no process or socket or a listenling port
In /tmp is 0777 and no problem. I also created a test user who can write in there.
I have another machine x86_64 where the daemon has no problem
Does the user need to be in a special group to have access? (currently distcc:daemon)
Where would distcc create the socket? _________________ Gentoo on Uptime Project - Larry is a cow |
