I was having issues with my /var. It was practically almost full. I was cleaning up some old files and haphazardly went into /var/amavis and cleared out the quarantine and tmp folders. Upon trying to restart amavisd-new, I got the following error

Code:

Missing process ID in file /var/amavis/amavisd.pid at /usr/sbin/amavisd line 13720. [ !! ]

I thought it had to do something with the files in the quarantine and tmp folder. Eventually tried deleting the amavisd.pid and it was fine.

Keeping here, in case I forget and come across it again. Any suggestions on cleaning out amavis' dirs?
