Just checked out the latest git...loving it. The "new", "simple" search feature is perfect. You're da man!
Thanks a lot.

Browser screen only allows me to sort songs per album per artist (or playlists) by modification times. I want to sort all songs in mpd database regardless of artist / album by modification time. I'm I missing a step somewhere?

Ah. That won't work in media library though. I could add this feature in search engine, if you want.

Thanks for the new release. Small problem: I have
Code:
song_columns_list_format = "(35){a} (53){t} (6f){l}"
which displays Artist / Title / Time in the playlist window. But for 0.5.1, the Time header is there, but no song time shows up in the Time column. The only changes I made to my 0.5 config were:
Code:
screen_switcher_mode       = "sequence: 2 -> 5"
startup_screen             = "2"
media_library_display_date            = "yes"
media_library_disable_two_column_mode = "yes"
search_engine_default_search_mode     = "2"

Did a diff of the 0.5 and 0.5.1 config files. Didn't see anything thing new that should effect this.

Argh, why such bugs occur always after release...

Fixed in git. I'll probably release 0.5.2 in a few days since that's quite serious.

Hi unk,

One small problem, in the Outputs screen: I can toggle an output's state on/off but only once. After that it can't be changed (unless I quit and reopen ncmpcpp or open another instance). Also, the message appears at the bottom of the screen ("Output xxx enabled/disabled") but the change is not reflected on the item (it does not get highlighted when enabled, for instance).

that's strange since ncmpcpp displays message about enabling/disabling only if it received ack from mpd. what mpd version do you use?

ncmpcpp-0.5.4 released.

changes:
  • new feature: toggle bitrate visibility at runtime
  • new feature: locate song in tag editor
  • new feature: separators between albums in playlist
  • new feature: customizable columns' names
  • new feature: support for multiple tag types in one column
  • media library: support for "All tracks" option in middlle column
  • playlist: shorten units' names displayed in statusbar
  • browser: critical bugfix in feature "remove directory physically from hdd"
  • a few other bugfixes

enjoy.

@Master of the Darkside, I think 0.5.4 should fix your issue since similar one was addressed in bug 316601 and it's already fixed.

I'm having problems with .cue files, whenever I try to add one to the playlist, ncmpcpp segfaults. Here is a backtrace (for some reason I can't copy/paste it). http://omploader.org/vNG90Mw

And this how I configured ncmpcpp
Code:
 CFLAGS="-O0 -ggdb -pipe" CXXFLAGS="-O0 -ggdb -pipe" ./configure --enable-outputs --enable-clock --enable-unicode --with-curl --with-gnu-ld --with-fftw --with-threads --enable-static --disable-shared --without-taglib --without-pic

Try current git, it should be fixed. Btw, if you want to copy something from terminal if mouse support is enabled, you need to hold shift.

That was from git. :X I'm also using mpd from git.

Yes, it was from git, but not *current* git, since I pushed a fix (or at least I think that's the fix) for your issue.

I see. Now I get a message that says 'access denied'. The file is readable (-rw-r--r--).

that's not ncmpcpp's problem unless you can load this playlist using other client. my guess is that this is because you're connected to mpd via tcp/ip, not unix socket.

Either I didn't find it or it's not possible, yet. Would be nice, if I could give the progress-indicator (=#) a different color from the progressbar itself. Thanks :)

Edit, come to think of it, what about vertical aligned indicators for progress and volume - optional of course? Thus something like this
Quote:
|
| title 1 |
| title 2 +
| title 3 |
+ tile 4 |
| title 5 |

Edit2, reproducable segfault when pressing the predefined "\" - on my german keyboard that would be alt_gr+?

One little request: I've noticed that in the latest ncmpcpp, for files with no tags all fields are shown as <empty>. Maybe in this case showing the filename as title would be more appropriate?

How do I change the color of the visualizer(wave in my case)? I replaced all occurances of "yellow", still it's yellow.

Maybe I missed something, but is there a way to search my media library (or playlist, to me they are always the same) quickly? Like, just write whatever and it will show everything with whatever?

I find the search screen to be much too cumbersome. Something like / and ? but without the directional orientation and producing a list of matches instead of just jumping to the closest one.
