If you try with the 5.10.91.9.3-r1 version, do you still get the same build errors?
Code:
emerge -av =net-wireless/broadcom-sta-5.10.91.9.3-r1

Right now, I'm more concern with that kind of error : warning: "WIRELESS_EXT" is not defined

... and WIRELESS_EXT is found in /usr/src/linux ---> make menuconfig ---> Networking Support ---> Wireless ---> Wireless Extensions

Then recompile your kernel and reinstall it. Make sure your /boot partition is mounted when you re-install the kernel.

your advice actually fixed this in another thread :P

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6127694.html

Those settings should sort the issue. From what I can tell this is another bug in the ebuild, where it should have another CONFIG_CHECK section for kernels >= 2.6.32

It's simple enough I could probably do it and proffer a new ebuild =/

EDIT:

New ebuild should be something like:

Code:

Probably so, but I went ahead and submitted an ebuild on the existing bug that should do the relevant checks

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300570

The original bug was in reference solely to B43 and SSB, but after chatting to a few folks this should be extended to make sure WIRELESS_EXT is enabled, and make sure MAC80211 isn't enabled; easy enough to add these checks, so I went ahead and included those in the new ebuild.

unrelated, and the interesting parts of that error message will be the last 40 or so lines above what you've posted.

No such file or directory is true here also but emerge gdm works. Suggesting you received a bad ebuild/make file.
'/etc/gtk-2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf.loaders' does exist here.

If
Code:
 ls -l /etc/gtk-2.0/
produces
Quote:
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 120 Jan 7 2009 i686-pc-linux-gnu
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 890 Dec 30 17:09 im-multipress.conf
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 184 Dec 30 17:09 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
You could try tricking the compile by making the appropriate symlink:
For 64 bit kernel:
Code:
ln -s /etc/gtk-2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf.loaders /etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders

For 32 bit kernel:
Code:
ln -s /etc/gtk-2.0/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf.loaders /etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders

and try again.

And if we don't find something, maybe you should try that :

Code:

# emerge -e world
# revdep-rebuild -i

That's the hard way do solve a bug.

many broadcom cards are also covered by b43. please stop bumping this OLD thread. wireless_ext is now CONFIG_CFG80211_WEXT=y

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Wifi#b43

3 years? open your own thread about it....

Whats the reason to open a new thread with the same info that its in this one? duplicated threadas? dont seem so usefull imho. My "own thread" as if i owned it XD. This one is not covered by b43 read the thread b4 posting please, it says clearly i need wl to use an other bugfix thats arround and that one finally fixes my card and oc wireless_ext is that new thing, oc i knew it..... do u think i just tryed to compile and as it didnt work i posted this and sat back to wait?

No, it's not. CFG80211_WEXT is a wext compatibility layer for netlink-based (nl80211) drivers, it allows you to use old tools (iwconfig/iwlist) with these drivers. WIRELESS_EXT is something entirely different, it's the old deprecated wireless framework. You can't directly select it in the kernel since a long time now, you can only get it by selecting one of the few drivers that are actually wext-based rather than netlink-based (the common example is ipw2100/ipw2200).

@Skirmitch: The reason you should open a new thread is because info in this one is outdated and therefore not useful anymore. Also, your error is not the same as the one discussed here, your error is specific to kernel 3.10, a kernel that definitely did not exist three years ago.

Oh, sorry i thought it was the same one that cuginguilu4 posted at last, if you tell me its not, i will open a new thread. Also, can you help me on when this is a matter to be posted in a bug tracker and when its a matter of this forum? Greetings
