the mapped volumes will apper in your homedir as N L ... (only if your admin added the map entries for linux workstations in the loginscript)
at the school i am doing network service i have a extra section for linux clients in the loginscript the paaping slooks like this map SIP=:/fs1/sip
or you can directly access /var/opt/novell/nclmnt/
there are the .Server .Tree dir where dependign on your rights the volumes apper

i never had to work with border manager
i even do not understand how it works together with ncl

if you want them in your homedir only add links for ex.
ln -sf /var/opt/novell/nclmnt/Server/SIP /home/mario/Novell/SIP
they would point to nowhere if you are not connected

looks like your admin checks in the login script if the wks is a windows machine if not do notthing
ask the it dep if they can add the linux section to the login script.

i have a old version 3.8 of the border manager client in the experimental overlay.
net-misc/novell-bordermanager-clntrust-3.8_p5

will update in the next days to 3.9

yes this is absolutly possible that gnwlogin crashes this binary is compiled for a special version of libs with suse specific patches to those

look if all dependencies are met via
ldd /opt/novell/ncl/bin/gnwlogin

nop its fun getting something run o a system it wasn't build for

at the moment i am working on some new packages that are more disttribution independent based on automake to check if the version deeps of the libraries are meet for the binaries
n4x.mars.arge.at

i also wanted to add CASA for the autologin to groupwise ... but droped it as kde3 is dropped from gentoo

the bordermanager client only works on x86 systems

thanks for your support!

nop

consoleone should work
when you want to login to the tree it sometimes happens thet you cant type anything into the username password or tree field
only escape the window and reopen it again.
only add the needed useflags "groupwise messenger remote nmas radius auth nfs nis ichain ncs additions"
and this plugins will be installed

if you miss one plugin let me know and pount me to the download containing the snapin if possible (zenworks is windows only plugin)

Hallo Novell C1 users
i have corrected (with some help from Caster on #gentoo-java irc) a long standing bug of c1 on amd64
now the startscript checks if it is runnung on a x86_64 system and automatically selects the 32 bit java vm (one downside it is hardcoded to the 1.6 version)

so it dose not mather what fm is selected in the system

thx
Mario

Maybe is a stupid thing, but look
Code:
>>> Fetching (18 of 29) app-admin/novell-consoleone-rconsolej-6.6.00-r1 from n4g
 * NW65SP7.zip RMD160 SHA1 SHA256 size ;-) ...                                                                                                       [ ok ]

!!! app-admin/novell-consoleone-rconsolej-6.6.00-r1 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually.  See the comments in the ebuild for more information.

 * This files require you to register at http://www.novell.com (free account)
 * Please download following file:
 *  - patchfiles/NW65SP7.zip
 * from http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=vAIyb4R70b4~
 * and place it in /usr/portage/distfiles
 *
 * To get rid of downloading files from http://www.novell.com
 * you can create a file /etc/portage/novell.acc
 * containing the novell account infos with following commands
 * # echo "NOVELL_ACCOUNT_USERNAME=\"balduin\"" >> /etc/portage/novell.acc
 * # echo "NOVELL_ACCOUNT_PASSWORD=\"derfisch\"" >> /etc/portage/novell.acc
 * Fetch failed for 'app-admin/novell-consoleone-rconsolej-6.6.00-r1'

he say "the file is OK", and then "you have to download the file"
i downloaded the file and putted on /usr/portage/distfiles
what's wrong?
