I am building gentoo-sources-2.6.30-r8 using the alsa sound module intel8x0:
| Code: |
<*> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture --->
<M> Sequencer support
<M> Sequencer dummy client
<M> OSS Mixer API
<M> OSS PCM (digital audio) API
[*] OSS PCM (digital audio) API - Include plugin system
[*] OSS Sequencer API
<M> HR-timer backend support
[*] Use HR-timer as default sequencer timer
[ ] Dynamic device file minor numbers
[*] Support old ALSA API
[*] Verbose procfs contents
[*] PCI sound devices --->
<M> Intel/SiS/nVidia/AMD/ALi AC97 Controller
|
Open Sound System is NOT enabled
This module works fine using audacity and jackd for sound recording my previous kernel: gentoo-sources-2.6.27-r8
On gentoo-sources-2.6.30-r8, recording starts, but within a minute or two I hear an loud echonig ring ring ring, and the entire computer freezes requiring a reset (and reboot).
Is anyone having problems with this driver on 2.6.30 series kernels?
Thanks,
Lincoln |

Hi,
Go for a kernel-2.6.31 if you can, it has been fixed.
I had issues with sound too (intel8x0, nforce2). |
