|
|
Hi!
I just installed gentoo for the 1. time.
I emerged X after Install and tried to compile kde cvs several times.
That didnt work out (yes I got the latest cvs...)so I'm compiling
kde 3.0.2 now, and I think everything will compile fine now.
But I have problems uninstalling kde cvs:
Make process of kde cvs stopping with errors filled my disks
up with cvs-sources and alot of binaries. I did a 'emerge rsync' but
this only cleaned the portage-meta-information (or whatever you call it )
how do I get rid of these files best? |

If you go into the directory where you download the kde cvs you should be able to type "make uninstall" assuming that the makefile for kde supports that. That would be the easiest way. |

If there is no uninstall, you're pretty much screwed. Portage handles installing/removing files automagically (which is really cool), and if you don't use Portage, you don't get the auto-uninstall functionality it provides.
May the Force be with you. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

I tried installing the KDE CVS ebuilds and my installation went through on qt and kdelibs, but failed on kdebase because by that time I'm almost sure that over 1GB had been filled by that process. Right now I managed to uninstall qt and kdelibs by doing 'emerge -C qt kdelibs' and removing /usr/kde/cvs/ and /usr/src/kde/ seems to be taking care of a bulk of the installation. If there are any other directories where KDE CVS is putting up a lot of files, I'd appreciate it if someone would list them... |
