I upgraded from xorg 1.5 to 1.6.3 and now my hkebord nly half works! Randomly kys will stick or be undetected!

I can't seem to find anything on google. It isn't that I can't type, it is that sometimes keys are undected or sticks. This makes typing very hard. Sometimes it lets me punch out a few cogent sentences but other times it mangles them. Has anyone seen anything like this? I checked the keyboard with another computer, so I think it is a software errrrrrror.
Ideas?

Did you re-emerge x11-drivers?

If he wouldn't, he would not have any input.
More likely hal/evdev problem.

This problem is intermittent, which makes it a pain to debug. I rebuilt my xorg drivers again but that didn't fix the issue.

I wrote a small program called linkeylog that prints the input received on an event drive in human readable form.
Code:

linkeylog /dev/input/event3
...
configure
...

Yet when typed configure into firefox I got "confiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigure". Therefore, this isn't an evdev problem. Linux is reading the input from the keyboard just fine. Somehow Xorg is mangling it?
Ideas?

If you put this in your xorg.conf, take it out:
Code:
Section "ServerFlags"
        Option       "AllowEmptyInput"   "false"
EndSection

... or maybe it's the keyboard itself. Have you tried a different keyboard?
