I get this:
ld: cannot find -ldb1
according to google, it's because I need a library called db1 - however I can't find any packages called db1 with emerge search db1 - I know there's a db1 rpm - but where's the files in gentoo?
thanks in advance. _________________ Best regards,

I don't know where the files are in gentoo, but you could emerge rpm and then use the rpm. You'd probably have to emerge inject after you installed the rpm package though so that emerge knows that it has the needed dependancy already. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

I solved it.
The package is called db, and i had it in version 3.x but it needs version 1.x.
That was missing from the dependency list in the ebuild - does anyone know how I can get that into the gentoo tree, so no one has to fiddle with the same problem. _________________ Best regards,

You should probably just post a bug on bugzilla. If you want to know more about that sort of thing check the docs. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
