Hello there.
I'm having difficulty getting quake 3 to run on my g400 -

I assume i need to setup some drivers or somethign - but i don't really have any idea how to fix this ? Any ideas?

Try "opengl-update xfree" as root.
Tell me if it works... |

This appears to work - Only thing is now, it ONLY works as root. If I run it as myself (and i am in the games group) it does:

That - I assume something to do with permissions on whatever DRM is ?

You see the message, "failed to open DRM"
You may have a problem with your DRI.
I don't know why, it may be a right issue.
Are you sure your DRI module is loaded? (is it in autoload?)
Try put it in autoload, or try to compile it as static in your kernel... |

have you installed matrox drivers it appears to bo using software rendering ......
If you have installed the matrox drivers , add load "dri" to the XF86config under the matrox section and restart x , should get around 600fps in glxgears
