yet I know they worked before I recently reinstalled gentoo on this box{I tend to distro hop alot}
however now they arn't listed with in mozilla
they are with in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

try copying them to /usr/local/mozilla/plugins? I don't know if its different with the eBuild, but I download nightly builds and that's where they plugins go for me. _________________ "And I'm right. I'm always right, but in this case I'm just a bit more right than I usually am." - Linus Torvalds |

you might want to delete the .mozilla directory in your home directory too...not doing so and recompiling mozilla can cause strange shit to happen |

unforchantly I don't have gcc 3.x I tried that a while ago
but it didn't work out that was before my last reinstall
useing gcc2.95.3
but the fact I seem to be the only one having this problem
{with the plugins} means I"m probely messing up somewhere
and don't even know it ... which drives me even more nuts |

check your permissions, never knows.
also reading http://plugindoc.mozdev.org can help sometimes. _________________ mat |

I had problems with Mozilla copy-n-paste some time ago, and what fixed it was simply re-emerging Mozilla (yeah, I know that's a pain 'cause it's so huge, but it did fix the problem for me). I also had some problems getting Mozilla to recognize all of my plugins. What had happened in my case was that I had been splitting up some plugins between /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and ~/.mozilla/<blah>/<blah>/plugins. Moving everything over to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins fixed that. |

Nope you're not the only one with this problem...I just finished installing on my desktop system.
Emerging moilla and some plugins (flash, shockwave) went smooth but mozilla doesn't see them.
Permissions of the symlinks (the real files seem to be in /opt/netscape/plugins) are ok.
The same plugins DO work in opera.....
Another weird thing is my cursor. While I'm typing this the letters appear correct but I don't hav a cursor |

are you using gtk2 (check your USE var :)
mozilla gtk2 support isnt finished, its still experimental...
also gcc 3.x /was/ known to cause a number of problems, dunno if it was fixed. _________________ mat |
