hi,
I just got an awesome job and will soon have a lot of bling to waist. I decided that the best way would be to build a system, that was not only awesome in general, but also had something like 5 monitors. Any suggestions on what video cards will give me the least trouble? Any other suggestions on what i should waist money on?

| With a Matrox Parhelia or G600(?) quad card you can use three or four monitors. Although it sounds nice to have many monitors you'll have a lot of neck strain... I'd recommend one or two apple 23" studio displays or a projector. Get a good SMP system (Opteron?) with really lots of RAM and a nice RAID if you want to waste money. I've used a 3x21" setup myself and I cannot recommend it. |

You'd be completely fine with two wide LCD's.. I'd spend most of my money on some nice storage space anyway, as a first priority.
Also, get a tape drive, if you're going to have the money. Tape drives are awesome, because of the awesome whirring noise they make, and also because of the awesome backup-a-bility they give you. _________________ s/(?<!gnu\/)linux(?! kernel)/GNU\/Linux/gi
Don't blame me. I didn't vote for him.

Sounds good. Two 23 would be awesome, maybe three. Although i was looking forward to seeing the matrix screensaver on a 5 display system, would have had the Nebuchadnezzar in my room. And a tape drive also sounds good, i like funny noises.

I think something from 9x media would do the trick. Maybe something on this page and I'd recommend a Matrox 450 or 550 AGP and a Matrox G450 4xMMS PCI to drive up to six monitors. |
