I'm on my second Gentoo install. I'm moving a box from windows 2k to Gentoo. I get to the emerge rsync command, it finds a server, runs for a bit, then I get the following error message:
eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!
This message will scroll on the screen many times. If I press CTRL-C I get the prompt back. If I type emerge rsync again, I get the error message. The only way to access the network again is to reboot and re-start emerge.
Sometimes emerge will run for quite a while, loading package names, sometimes it won't get beyond the package count. This happens on several servers.
I break it and ls /usr/portage, and I see some of the packages listed there.
Any thoughts or hints?
Cheers,
