I am running the X Server on an Enlightenment Desktop, and I'm becoming surprised seeing that the apps I put into de the menu files to be executed like "shortcuts" simply don't work.
Well, some of them work, and some others not. An example: "Mozilla" NULL exec "mozilla" works, well, "XFig" NULL exec "xfig" does not
I simply wanted to know if it's simply a bug of this Enlightenment version or what.
Thanks. |

I, too, use Enlightenment, and I've noted what I think is similar behavior to yours.
I previously didn't have any trouble. However, since I've reinstalled, some problems have come up.
For example, this time around, I installed Quake 3 in /opt/games instead of /usr/local/games (I think) like normal. Enlightenment can't seem to execute it if I just do quake3. I have to do /opt/games/quake3/quake3. Same with jEdit (which I didn't install any differently).
My guess is that something is going wrong with the PATH somehow. However, I don't really know how enlightenment looks for those kind of things, and I haven't really looked into solving this problem.
So, I guess you should try putting in the full path information for programs that don't work. If that doesn't work, sorry, I'm not sure what's wrong.
Hope this helps. _________________ They don't have a good bathroom to do coke in. |
