how can i stop gentoo to stop generating wrong modules.conf file,
i installed alsa and nvidia drivers and used etc-update to update /etc files but now it generates wrong modules.conf file every time i boot,i have to edit it so i can get nvidia to work |

hmm, so modules.conf is generated by the files in modules.d?
can i remove alsa.merged from /etc/modules.d/ as it seem's to contain all the stuff that causing problems to modules.conf |

Yeah, I think you can safely remove that file - but do it the proper way = don't REmove it, just MOVE it first...to someplace else outside that directory. Then...when you're absolutely sure you dont need it, you can stomp it and kick it outta there
I think someone else mentioned an 'alsa.merged' file in the modules.d dir, and yes, I believe the system builds modules.conf from all files within the modules.d directory. |
