The home page (dated June 10) says Distrowatch rates gentoo as one of the top 10. well I looked today and it's number 5.
Absolutly amazing!
#1 Mandrake
#2 Redhat
#3 Debian
#4 Suse
#5 Gentoo
#6 Slackware
After looking at what's included it's even more amazing, in that gentoo has more packages then every other top 5 distro (from eyeballing) and the packages are more recent. Yes this is bleeding edge. (I didn't know, it didn't feel that way! )
Just thought this was too cool to not post on. |

Moving to In Other News, as that's where the other distrowatch-related thread is. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

| That "over 10k" is for binary packages. They still have six thousand odd source packages though. hmm gentoo seems to have about 2500 packages .. plus the several hundred new ebuilds waiting on the bugs site. |
