Uh...
Your known issues link refers to localhost. That definitely won't work. |

Hi guys,
How do you get the jemalloc library on a Gentoo system ? Is there any ebuild in portage that provides it ?
Geki, do you intend to provide an ebuild for OpenOffice 3.0 beta ?
Thank you in advance. _________________ My desktop : http://www.sysprofile.de/id11219 |

You may want to change your jemalloc instructions to not have the march=core2. There are a few out there that might not realize that they should change it for their processor. _________________ My emerge --info
Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.

yay, openoffice-3.1.0 development snapshot prepared.
though, have to update ooo-build trunk for failing patches now ...
edit some things moved from ebuild to ooo-build. update both.
have fun! _________________ LibreOffice|split-boost|trans-follow xcb port|instruction set analyzer

just the usual bugfixing and new code.
it builds for me.
jemalloc works.
my openoffice buggers last - see my openoffice webpage.
I have to wait for openoffice 3.2 milestones to be buildable somewhen.
may be they get what I need. _________________ LibreOffice|split-boost|trans-follow xcb port|instruction set analyzer

thanks !
is there anything else I might need to do to activate jemalloc besides:
| Quote: | cp /home/die/jemalloc/libjemalloc.so /usr/lib64/libjemalloc.so
strip -s /usr/lib64/libjemalloc.so
|
and reboot ? _________________ Unofficial minimal livecd x86/amd64 w/reiser4+truecrypt (by Neo2)

wrt jemalloc, no. and no reboot necessary.
simply link it in to your executables to use it over system malloc.
or activate jemalloc USE flag where available. _________________ LibreOffice|split-boost|trans-follow xcb port|instruction set analyzer

hmm, seems ooo-build-ooo310-m13.tar.gz has been removed from the go-oo download server. _________________ backend.cpp:92:2: warning: #warning TODO - this error message is about as useful as a cooling unit in the arctic |

yup
but unfortunately, I forgot to add the configure patch to detect the qt4 libs on gentoo.
there were some broken or missing patches in ooo-build/master.
that should be fixed now, update git master and my overlay.
as a bonus I added an "OpenOffice.org 3" intro bitmap.
is there an official gentoo one, yet, that I missed?
-- I was sick of version 2.4 popping up on start, heh. _________________ LibreOffice|split-boost|trans-follow xcb port|instruction set analyzer
