I've got Mozilla 1.0 and Galeon 1.2.5. For as far back as I can remember, I've had this problem where sometimes fonts are mauled in galeon. Some of the page is ok, and some of the lines have a "squashed" look to them, like the middle bit has been ripped out. If I highlight the text, it'll display normally (even if I stop highlighting it right after). Any ideas? Anyone seen this?

Yes, this is the same for my setup...
I have not really looked that hard for a solution (yet), I hope someone can point (us all) to a solution.

Stuff has been like that in both Mozilla and Galeon since I've been using them in Linux (admittedly, not very long. About a month now), but it was that way in Red Hat, if I recall (although suddenly I'm not entirely sure), and it's been that way in Gentoo for the whole time.

I've changed fonts around, and briefly thought that fixed it, but it didn't.

Nothing else ever acts that way.

Also, I should note that a lot of times, if I highlight stuff in mozilla/galeon (both Gecko, I guess), stuff seems to shift around a lot of times. Like, if you go to Slashdot and highlight a block of text next to a picture for a story, the picture will wiggle a little, which seems odd.

I, too, have never really looked for a solution. I just put up with it.

Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Fonts->Display resolution being set to 96dpi has been reported to fix font rendering problems in mozilla (possibly galeon too?)
