(It was the first link returned when searching for "the light works digital imagery star trek wallpaper". ;))

The March of the Desktops continues....

My current NX remote desktop...a study in discord at the moment while I work out a new look.

You are quite correct, I didn't even google it. A LMGTFY would have been in order, but I was mostly just referring to that one specific image. I didn't realise that there was a whole bunch of them!

Either way, thanks yabbadabbadont, you're the man. <3

(Yes, I realise I'll probably get called a slut by Old School for that, but meh)

Curious question about Opera, I saw a few in the Feb screenshot-o-rama post where people had awesome Operas on their boxen/e (namely ppurka), was wondering how this was possible. Mine looks like teh poos when not using the classic scheme.

Also, if you can't tell, terribly new to e17. I was using Fluxbox for a couple of weeks, but saw this was like, the prettier version, and if I can make it behave the same in some respects, I think I'll have an awesome default wm.

He just changed the theme Opera was using. In my case I just turn off all the menus and such, and I use some css hacks to change the look of this site and some others.

I didn't realize how tired of the old look I'd become--didn't change much for 3+ years. I am so over green. :P
/me is happy again.

The WM is emerald (from compiz-fusion) and the theme is QtCurve. Both are custom themes.

Here are the them files if anyone wants them:
http://twilight.endoftheinternet.org/~twilight/Dreams-Of-Leaving-2_the_night_.tar.bz2
The gkrellm theme is only as complete as I need it for my uses and the emerald theme is missing a couple of things as well. The wallpaper is a propaganda tile from volume 10 that I modified with the gimp. Here is the propaganda set:
http://www.michaelsmac.com/contributions/uploads/Propaganda/Propaganda-Everything.zip

Another screenshot:

There are some really nice desktops in here this month.

Since you seem to know how to theme gkrellm, would you happen to know if it can be themed in such a way as to be mostly transparent, but tinted? From reading the docs, it seems to me that it should support it by theming it with png's with the proper alpha channel, but I've never managed to make it work correctly. All I've been able to do is make it fully transparent.

I've never tried to make gkrellm partially transparent. It should be easy to try out though. Setting bg_chart half transparent would be a good test. I might play with this later :).

Of course, as soon I get to my PC.

Edit:

Here it is. If you want the weather script to work, you will find below the instructions:

Quote:

For a working script you NEED to define, in a user specific config file, a partner id and registration code for the weather.com xoap service. For this purpose the config file should be copied to "~/.conkyForecast.config" and setup as required.

To register and obtain the necessary codes you need to visit the following url and fill out the form: http://www.weather.com/services/xmloap.html

Inside the tar.gz you will find the corresponding configuration files and the necessary fonts.
