emergable divx encoder (or ogg video?)

any praise about an emergable divx (or ogg video?) ecoder? I'd prefer something easy and all in one if it exists.

Any answer to this is one less reason to boot to that other OS!

transcode is your friend.

so is xvid (the open divx replacement).

transcode is a (command-line) swiss army knife for converting to and from many different video codecs and formats, including divx, xvid, mpeg2, etc. etc.

I don't recall for certain, but I may have had to grab xvid off of freshmeat and install it by hand prior to doing the transcode emerge (it was then detected during the ./configure stage). In any event, the ebuild you're looking for is:

media-video/transcode

For DVD and divx5 try dvd::rip. IMHO there is no better ripping/encoding tool, even for windows
