Can not log in from gdm anymore after system crash!!!

Hi !
After system crash when i am trying to login using gdm it restarts my X and goes back to login screen , after i give valid username and passowrd and there is no difference if i take user root or sleon or it i take different session than gnome!

Does somebody has this problem?
Is there any "lockfiles" from the crash, that prevent me from logging in?

Try cleaning /tmp.

Can you turn off gdm and then do "startx" from your console? Does that work? What errors do you get?

Yes i can

This is only problem with gdm:
When i try to login it restarts X and comes back to login screen

And unfotunatly there is no information in logs about this problem with gdm.[/quote]

This happened to me yesterday!
Re-emerging gdm sorted it out.

Thanks! re-emerged gdm and everything's fine. Gnome 2's so purdy

On a slightly different note. hooray for searching! Much easier than waiting for someone to respond, and possibly tell me to just search anyway.
