sparcy64 sun4u using 32 Bit compilter

But everytime I compile a program it's still using the 32 bit version. How do I switch it to the 64 Bit version?

as far as I know, 64bit compiler only used to compile the kernel.
and sparc platform doesn't have a pure 64bit, you just can have a 64bit kernel with 32bit program.
