I getting a failure when emerging nessus. Ie included all of the relevant (I think) snippets below. It looks like the install of nessus-libraries is failing. Anyone know could be causing it?
Code: |
/usr/sbin/ebuild.sh: cd: /var/tmp/portage/nessus-1.2.2-r1/image//usr/bin: No such file or directory

Any solution to this? The latest rsync still fails, and as I mentioned before, it seems to be because nessus-libraries (the first of four components) is not installing correctly after it's built, which prevents the rest of the components from having the necessery libraries to be built. |

| Just for the heck of it, I tried emerging it as well. Same error. Might be a problem in the ebuild. Perhaps it isn't compiling the nessus-libraries at all, or at the wrong time. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

same problem here, I think I saw on the emerge output a "doubled" '/' in some path (as in /some//path/of/theirs) regarding the libs. The hypothesis standing is that the 'make install' of the libs get messed up and the subsequent 'configure' for the application sh*ts its pants because cant find the libs.
I will take a look in the ebuild file later today and let you guys know if I get around to it...
EDIT:
ok, the compiles are concatenated before the make installs (so just how is it supposed to find the libs if not installed?). I tried to push the make install function within every compile. The error was removed but so where all binaries (I ended up only with the documentation)
It's a bit strange for a package isn't it?
I'll try again (I get rather berserk when things fail to work! ) _________________ Need to flame people LIVE on IRC? Join #gentoo-otw on freenode! |

Strangely enough, my last attempt at this was successful. Didn't change anything, just resynced. Maybe it's been fixed already? Try again after an 'emerge rsync' and see if you have any luck. |

emerging now, but we were correct on the problem: if you take a look now on the portage tree under net-analyzer you will find separate builds for each "package" and the nessus ebuild simply contains these packages as dependencies to build them one by one.
I have to admit these people are fast on adjusting things... _________________ Need to flame people LIVE on IRC? Join #gentoo-otw on freenode! |

hell yeah they're fast! I just typed up a review of the installation and my experiences with Gentoo for my LUG, and that was definately one of the things I brought. Being able to talk directly with the developers certainly has it's advantages. |
