I get the following error when emerging glib-2.18.1:

just a sidenote, not a solution to your problem:
you can remove the sse4a thing from your CFLAGS, it's automatically set by your march.

Ah, thanks, I'm not really good in finding optimizations for my processor. Found this somewhere and didn't want to try the more aggressive ones (after it failed for me once).

Hm. I was trying ccache a while back and hadn't encountered any problems..
