Perhaps you've just started using Linux, or you're a long-time user who just wants to meet other users face-to-face and find out what they're up to. Linux User Groups are a great way to meet other people and get help on your problems.
Despite what you may think, most of these groups (in my experience) are a good mix of "geeks" and average joes. Most LUGs will generally involve a monthly meeting with talks on a wide range of topics as well as random chatter and people fixing each others problems. Many LUGs also hold social meets where they basically just go to the pub.
Check out the following sites to see if there's LUG near you:
* http://linuxusersgroups.org/
* http://www.linux.org/groups/
* UK: http://lug.org.uk/
Have you tried a LUG? What were your experiences?
(PS. If you know of other resources for finding LUGs, please post them!) |
