... and I'm not coming out til Gentoo is installed. I was going to grab the Stage 3 tarball, but that's the coward's way out, right? (I still have my Mandrake CDs to draw strength from, tho.) Anyway, I've been a die-hard Mandrake fan since I left Windows, so this is a huge step for me.

So, I'm about to wipe this laptop clean and give Gentoo a go. If no one has heard from me within 3 days, someone get a message to my family ...

its worth it pantropik, well worth it.

Oh delta.. I found out why my cpu was being used so much..

I set up hlds to minimise the latency of my clients to the minimum possible level by processing a frame EVERY time a packet arrives. This causes the lowest possible latency, but can also cause extreme CPU usages (it does a complete frame for every packet) and I forgot that I set it up to do that.

at least I got low pings
