For the summer of code developer trying to make a live cd to make a cluster on the go, wouldn't it be easier to start off where openmosix left off? Or am I missing something? As I know openmosix already accomplished this same goal and used to be supported by Gentoo.

OpenMosix _was_ one approach to distributed processing which failed do to restrictive limitations (needed exactly identical systems) and the fact that it attempted to parallelize programs that weren't necessarily coded as such. Furthermore, the cost of migrating the process threads to another host tended to be more prohibitive than just letting the same process complete on the local machine. So, all in all, OpenMosix was nice in _theory_.

Also, my project is meant to support really cool stuff like network booted images so that one doesn't need to configure individual machines ;)

I really enjoyed Jones Productions article as it reminds of my experience with gentoo, particularly the last sentence:

With Ubuntu or Fedora installing just works most of the time, but with Gentoo its an adventure!

Great newsletter!

I found "Council Meeting Sumary" was hard to be understood.
Maybe the link to the details of Council Meeting records can be given, if it's possible.
