emerge net-tools stops for user input

Hi,

Installing an old 586 system, for the first time I actually had to do the stage1->2->3 process. Now during the progression from stage 2 to stage 3 there's an emerge net-tools (or similar) that stops and asks for a bunch of input. Isn't this supposed to be matched by the USE flags instead of asking the user for a bunch of protocols (which, if I may add, a normal user would probably know nothing about, unless you're a networks super-nerd)?

Anyway, if the way it is right now is the "correct" way I think it should defenitely be mentioned in the installation guide since I was not expecting anything like that.
