Hullo All
Hope somebody can help me because I'm at a loss for a solution for my problem. I've searched these forums, linuxnewbie forums and Google, but no love.
After having a few false starts with installing UT (namely not having ms Joilet extensions compiled into my kernel ) I've come up to a wall in my installation. I'm having no problems with the CD's now, but near the end of the install things aren't going quite how they should be. I think that the install script is not completed because when I try to run ut as either root or a regular user I get an error saying that the entry map does not exsist.
It DOES exsist, but it is still compressed (Entry.XXX.uz). All the maps are supposed to be decompressed at the end of the script. I watched the install again and noticed that when the progress bar gets to about 75% it jumps out of the install and says everything is fine and dandy. I also noticed that in the console that I ran the install script from reports that "No matching Delta for /usr/local/games/ut/System/Editor.u" and this might have something to do with it.
I am trying to install using the loki ut-install-436-GOTY script and I have the double CD GOTY UT edition. I have tried to install it several times, completely removing everything from ~/.loki and using the uninstall script provided by loki.
[edit: It stops not long after inserting the second CD]
The UnrealTournament log says:

Hi,
I had the same problem(s), too.
The problem is that the Linux install script for the Game Of The Year Edition doesn't uncompress maps, so that's why it fails with "Entry" (as the intro is based on a map called "Entry").
It's only one command that makes your UT working but I can't remember...
I think I found the answer in the FAQ but the UT FAQ on Loki's site is 404
I suggest you to write to the news group (lokigames.com --> UT --> Discussion Forum) |

Yo uare using the best of infragames version? That version isnt supported by the loki bins and i have had no sucess getting them to work.
Loki used to have a ticket on its fenris bugzilla with a script that will decompress those map files, but trawl the net as i might i cant find a thing!!
Try finding another version of the game, or try running it under winex |
