I need help getting my printer to work...

parrallel support is in the kernel and when i boot i get the following at startup...

parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [PCSPP(,...)]
parport0: irq 7 detected

I have a cups printer set up and tried attaching it to port /dev/lp0 and /dev/plp but neither one work. Also there is no device showing up in /dev...

did i miss something?
