Since I use 56K internet access , I was able to burn most of the files I need from the distfiles online location.
One file I didn't see was XFree86 files. Did I overlook it?
Also will these files work with any other version of Linux or just Gentoo?
Thnx. |

Thanks for the link...I got it now. But i'm still having problems with the installation of Gentoo.
After everything is done, and it comes to the part of unmounting those /mnt/gentoo mounts points, it doesn't seem to be there once I've compiled my kernel. I think its at that point when I noticed it.
I do a Stage 3 installed from CD. When I give the umount /mnt/gentoo/boot command I get a Device not found or similar error message. Then I do the mount command to view what is mounted, only thing I see is /dev/ROOT and my floppy & cdrom drives.
I"m at work now and can't give the exact problem but this is very close to what happens. I also tried installing Grub for a triple boot with Win 98/XP but it didn't work.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thnx. |
