I'm a big Debian fan. I love the package management system.
What I don't like is how LONG it takes for new packages to arrive. KDE 3 is still not in Debian sid. This is unacceptable to me. Response to rather critical bugs seems much too slow (or non-existent) for certain packages as well.
I installed Gentoo on a spare machine of mine and was very impressed.
I am posing this question to any ex-Debian users out there, even though this might be a biased place to do it... are you glad you switched to Gentoo? Why did you switch? Is there anything you miss about Debian that Gentoo doesn't have?
Of course there's the big difference of compiled source vs. binary packages, so skip that!
Thanks,
Carl |

Locking in favor of the thread entitled Debian or Gentoo?, which is quite well established. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
