|
|
Hi,
after I updated my KDE tonight from 3.0 to 3.0.2 I got two strange problems.
The first is with Konsole. With KDE 3.0 and lower it was a very nice to use konsole, which shows the current user and directory. And it has nice highlighting. Now I get a very ugly prompt which looks like that:
well. this is really galling (is this correct??) but I could live with it. But there is another Problem with Konsole. Pos1 and End-Keys don't work anymore. If I try to delete a Char with Del, I get a ~. Only backspace works. This is very bad...
Has someone an idea how to solve it?
The second problem, which exists also in KDE 3.0, but I think not that hard, is with Xinerama. I use a nVidia GeForce 4 Ti4200 with dual-monito. For this I use the options of the nVidia-Driver. It works fine, but after a bit surfing, or just have KDE running i get strange rendering problems. It look like this (see the right side of the screenshot): http://www.gamestar.de/mdr/screenshot3.png
Is this a real KDE bug? Or did someone knows a solution? _________________ Many greetings from Germany,

resolved the konsole-problem!
Edit the first line in /usr/kde/3/bin/startkde and add a " -login" to the end! _________________ Many greetings from Germany,

Gulliver,
Sorry I don't have a solution for your rendering issue, but could you tell me a what style and window decorations you are running? It looks really nice! Also, which icq program are you running there? And what is the XMMS controller you have in the top right of the screen?
cheers,

Actually, one thing you could try with your rendering problem: Is it still there if you turn off font anti-aliasing?
I have a dual-head G450, and when I have anti-aliasing on, it renders things incorrectly, but mostly fonts. Perhaps the NVidia cards have a similar problem? |
