Hi,

I had courier imap 1.4.5rx running fine over ssl.

I have upgraded to 1.5.1. I have merged the config files and assured that all settings are the same.

Now if I start the old scripts (courier-imap-ssl) the server still works but when I use the new script courier-imapd-ssl it fails to authenticate.

Any suggestions welcome.

Some additional info:

When I run the old script I have processes for authdaemond.plain but not when I run the new scripts.

Its all sorted now. Just need to tidy up some files I missed

I updated the files in /etc/courier-imap but there are others to update in /etc/init.d.

Also be wary of this setting in the /etc/courier-imap/imapd file. I found that when AUTHSERVICE993 was uncommented that it caused the client to not authenticate.

That's indeed the case, so anyone messing around in the imapd configuration file should leave this setting alone. I don't know what it's for, but it's better to leave it be. :wink:

And yes, I know that this thread is over a year old. The answer is still of importance, though.
