since ethernet address doesnt change, are there service that dynamically look for IP with eth address provided? and update itself accordingly? _________________ I do what I want, and that's what I do.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to ask but:
1) ethernet adresses are (almost always) programmable
and
2) only programs like arpwatch are heavily into reverse mapping |

arping might let you do it.
Note that this is NOT the version in portage (either as net-misc/iputils or net-analyzer/arping). |
