OK so I do an "emerge winex"
That works just fine... and then the problems start.
I do what emerge said:
Code: | cowhead kpabap $ /usr/winex/bin/regapi setValue < /etc/winex/winedefault.reg
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /c (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C:
Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D:
Invalid path 'c:\windows' for windows directory: does not exist
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
This is (supposed to be) '/home/kpabap/.wine/config'

What am I missing |

If you are installing winex for the first time, copy /etc/winex/config (global configuration) to ~/.wine/config and edit that for per-user configuration. Otherwise, winex will not run. Also, run
"/usr/winex/bin/regapi setValue < /etc/winex/winedefault.reg"
to setup per-user registry for using winex. |
Looks to me like the template configuration file you are using points to a series of directories that simply don't exist, or, you copied the /etc/winex/config file to the wrong place (~/.wine/ not ~/.winex/). If the file is in the right place then it seems to want your Wine C: drive to be /c, the D: to be /cdrom, and /mnt/fd0 to be your Wine A:. None of these is a obvious choice for a standard Gentoo box. You'll need to edit the .wine/config file to point at directories that do exist, or create those it is looking for. _________________ Cheers,

When you are specifying the C Drive for Winex (/c in the default config) does that have to be that spot that your windows partition is mounted? Does there have to be anything in the directory? |
