I recall seeing some info somewhere on a program that could be used to send signals to different KDE Apps to cause them to do different things. the signals had a special name, and I can't remember what it was, or the name of the program, so needless to say my searches have been rather ineffective. l'il help?

Ok I've been playing with it for about a half hour now and got it to do a few cool things. I can send a signal to cause kmail to check my mail etc. but the main feature that I've been trying to get working is forward and back in konqueror. I found QStringList Actions which returns all of the actions that you can send to konqueror. and it lists forward and back, but when I use DCOPRef action (QString Name) and use "back" or "forward" nothing happens.

i'll admit i don't completely understand the breakdown of everything under each app's name, but this part seemed pretty straight forward. has anyone else ever messed with this? hopefully with more success than I've had? :)

I'd like to use DCOP to give more functionality to my multimedia keyboard and possible for writing some kind of cool scripts, the purpose of which is completely unbeknownst to me at this time. is unbeknownst a word? :)

just to clarify a bit more, when I try to send anything to konqueror using that DCOPRef Action thing, i get a message at the bottom of the window that says "Returned Data Type: Unknown Type DCOPRef."
