I emerged sci-visualization/qtiplot-0.9.2 yesterday at work, just before leaving. It took ages to finish 'cleaning old python code'. When I arrived home, most mountpoints -- all empty mountpoints -- were gone, and I've noticed other empty directories in /home/myuser missing too. Actually, I don't see any of the empty directories I knew were there before. I plan to check my filesystem as soon as I get the time (ext3).

[EDIT]: OK, /home/p2p/mldonkey/Incoming is empty and is still there... Damn, I hope my HD is not dying.

[EDIT 2]: Checked filesystem. lost+found was gone, and 20% of the filesystem was non-contiguous. Weeeird.

I'm not sure if that might be related the behavior you've described. I have empty directories and they've never been removed, but it might generate some ideas.

Cool, thanks. Yes, those removed mountpoints were created by me, hence, there would not be any .keep file in them. So it looks one thing might be related to the other. That also reassures me that I shouldn't have lost anything important. I was really worried that there would be random missing chunks in my system, not only those directories. :)

My system is behaving well and reliably. :P

[EDIT]: /mnt/floppy is still there, and /mnt/floppy/.keep as well. Hmmm, that might be worth a bugreport... :)
