Call me a freak, but I don't like having things in my /etc/modules.autoload, don't know why, but I just feel 'unclean' when having stuff in there
The ebuild of nforce-net suggests putting nvnet in the autoload file, but it can do without.
You probably have created a /etc/modules.d/nvnet file (it isn't automatically created anymore?!?) where you have your module options entered (full duplex, 10 or 100 Mbit ect).
Add one more line there and you can remove another module from the autload file.
That one more line being:
Of cource you should substitute eth0 for whatever number (eth1, eth2, ...) your onboard nic gets, but I guess it'll always be eth0.
Do a modules-update, and nvnet will be loaded as soon as the nic get's initialized.
