Ok, I was having some trouble with KDE 3.1 Alpha (I went to work in the morning, and came back to find konqueror crashes with a sig 11 every time i tried to access a webpage (back tracing it had errors with libkhtml, libc.so.0.6 and other things), and I tried re-emerging KDE libs/base and glibc, but nothing helped. So, I got and compiled the latest CVS version, did a rm -rfv on /usr/kde/3/*, and reinstalled using CVS. Is this going to do anything bad to portage ? From what I have tested, KDE is working perfectly, and portage thinks I have alpha 1 installed. So, anyone think of anything bad that could come of this ? Thanks.

I guess it should be OK, but tracking of installed files (by portage) might be out of sync.

You can use portage to install kde-cvs :!: See this message in gentoo-user mailing list.
