yes i read the topics about tux not compiling when it cant see gl.h, but mine sees gl.h but doesnt see glx.h. they both are in the same directory and properly linked with proper permissions and stuff, so whats the deal? |

yeah, i'm having the same problem.
sure enough, glx.h IS there, right alongside gl.h, which is found without problems. I'm using NVidia's gl, not that it should make any difference.
I am currently rebuilding kde & X just in case that solves the problem. I have tried various combinations of emerge -u, world, -u world, rsync, -c etc... lincity also won't emerge - missing a whole bunch of x related header files. so who knows, maybe I bungled the install (did it from stage1)?
xmms and qtella emerged fine. chromium worked fine too, and it uses gl. |

Try running opengl-update (to select opengl implementation) before emerging tux racer.
Also try creating a symlink /usr/include/X11 to /usr/X11R6/include/X11, see this thread about it. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

(as root)
ln -s /usr/X11R6/include/X11 /usr/include/X11
emerge lincity
worked. Thanks for the tip. |

well, I don't know why, but tuxracer works.
I had already done "opengl-update nvidia" several times before, so who knows. |
