Hello, I attempted to install gentoo and twice ran into a disk full error during the bootstrap phase. I have a 20 gig hard drive and set up the partitions as follows:
/dev/hda1 100 mb
/dev/hda2(swap) 250 mb
/dev/hda3 the remainder of space
followed instructions for making file system as follows:
mkswap /dev/hda2
mke2fs /dev/hda1
mke2fs -j /dev/hda3
everything went according to the install instructions until the bomb. did I need to put extra flags on the hda3 line to tell it how big the partition is the instructions seemed a little criptic and this is my first install of this type. Put rh back on same machine with no troubles. I did delete all prior partitions during the gentoo install. I also tried with the xfs metod and did ad the agcount lines. Where did I go wrong? |

When it bombs out, do a "df". It will tell you which partition is full and what is not. Also do "fdisk -l /dev/hda" to check partition sizes. Did you mount /dev/hda1 as / by mistake? |
