|
|
Hello all,
For some odd reason my gentoo system refuses to boot. It did boot before and I honestly cant point my finger at what caused the change. "not boot" as in: It boots perfectly (loading kernel, modules) and some init scripts up to
Cleaning /tmp directory... [OK]
then a few of
Dependency info is missing! Please run
# /sbin/depscan.sh
to fix this.
My hostname is (none), my keymaps are not set, no services are launched.
When i try to run depscan.sh it immediatly returns me to the console without a reason, error or warning.
I desperatly need help!
-Chris.
edit: After only 3 hours of sleep and way too few coffees i thought, "Hey, why not look at the depscan.sh source.". So I did. a depscan.sh -d -u fixed my problems. Now I am just curious on what happened... _________________ Registered Linux User #38359 (http://counter.li.org) |

I had this too. It was caused by this bug:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172502
I updated baselayout and all was well. I don't know how /var/lib/init.d/deptree became empty to start with though. |

it seems that mktemp was blocking something, it got removed and not rebuilt
error messages in depscan -d -u complain about it missing
check your mktemp if depscan -d -u doesn't help _________________ Being a Gentoo user means living in a house inhabited by a family of crazed carpenters. When you wake up, the house is different.
