Don't know where you live, but have you factored in daylight savings time? For example during standard time I'm GMT -8, but during DST, I'm -7. Just a thought. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

| How exactly do i change the setting but still keep my time accurate? i mean... Sure. I can set my time an hour back and everything is flawless. Except for the fact that it throws me all out of whack. I'm set for EST right now. |

What distro you using?
I've found that runing ntp on my mythbox tends to that for me. I'm actually worried about the change over.
When do we get out of DST this year? _________________ [Owner/Operator: Dhampir Dreams]

if your system time and zone are correct but your epg is off, there are two things i can think of you can do:
1) complain to schedules direct - they'll probably ask you to confirm your listings to what is shown on the zap2it site.
2) set your mythtv to offset the EIT data by an hour - i think that one is in mythtv-setup.
hopefully its something simple.

| How do you get listings at all? I thought the source (zap2it) stopped giving data |

I too have this problem. I'm in the UK and it's BST currently (clocks actually go back tonight). I use EIT listings and the programs are all an hour forward (live tv shows the next program).
The EIT offset doesn't appear to make any difference to my listings, I've tried mythfilldatabase --refresh-all, restarting mythbackend and rebooting the machine several times in all sorts of combinations.
Is there a solution to this? Is there a way to make mythtv compensate for the bizarre timezones we have? |

Trouble is, MythTV grabs the off-the-air (EIT) listings by itself. I've no idea how it happens or what I'd have to do to modify this routine. The clocks here have changed from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time and the listings seem fine. However, I'd like to know how to fix this now so that in half a year I won't be spending twice as long having to refresh my memory.
"Time offset for XMLTV listings" has, as expected, no effect.
"Time offset for EIT listings" has, unexpectedly, no effect. |
