Hi folks,
I try to contact some people via gadu gadu.
It was hard enough, to register an account, had to install the win-client via wine.
Now gnu gadu crashes every time I start it with some memory fault. But anyways i just want to go by jabber-transports because i use gajim for everything.
The often listed transport (gg.)jabbim.pl seems to be offline, other transports such as netlab.cz just link to that transport. I'm with chrome.pl now but not really sure whether it works correctly.
Perhaps some of you could share their experiences with gg under linux especially as a jabber-transport.
thx, mfg borsdel
ps feel free (try) contacting me at gg:6686661 ;)

Man, Gadu-gadu is a crap :D Try Kadu - Linux client, imho the best :)

Here's homepage: http://www.kadu.net/w/English:Main_Page and you can find Kadu in portage :)

Kadu is by far the best and the most feature-rich gadu-gadu client out there.

Thanks for your comments.
Ok, on the first look: kadu is the qt-version of gnu gadu. On the second: seems less buggier and quite feature rich.
Will stick with it, if I can't find a reliable gg-transport for jabber :(

I'm using gg.aster.pl as my gadu-gadu transport for jabber and it works really well.

Hey thanks, gg.aster.pl seems to work. Tried that to search the service before, but was too stupid to try jabber.aster.pl.

Yes, that is a spam, but that's really odd. I don't get any spam messages lately.

At least when you connect to gg via jabber-transport there's an option "[] Friends only" - don't know what it's for, since the gg-faq says, there's no authorization, everybody can message you.
When my contact list is complete i surely will switch this option...;)

btw: for some reasons, it is nice that polish chatters aren't stuck on icq/aim, msn and yahoo but on the other side, I don't want to know which intentions the company behind gg has *paranoia*

Yeah. I use it for a few accounts, and had no problems with gg transport.
