benchmarks against other *nix distros?

Howdy,

I'm very curious about Gentoo, but one thing I'm wondering is whether or not it's worth the bother of crossing-over from the distro I'm currently using. Has anyone done any performance comparisons using Gentoo vs. other distros? I'd really be curious to see this.

while no specific benchmark, desktop comparsion by feel vs mandrake approx 200% faster....totally unscientific of course....same box just different distro
