I tried it, it looks funny in fullscreen. Bugs mentioned in the homepage (like sound when "starting") are there.
Anyway, it works fine. I will keep using ePSXe (1.5.2)... but I'm open for new stuff like pSX and will try the new versions. (-;
My second pad works great with ammoQ's padjoy plugin, but only with ePSXe 1.5.2 (1.6.0 is buggy ;-) _________________ roslin uberlay | grubelek |

I tried psx, i don't have the issues you mention. In other words, it worked perfectly, good video & audio performance. |

From what I've read on the pSX forums, if you're having video problems/issues there's a couple of possibilities:
- If you're getting GTK-related warnings/errors, pSX doesn't run, or both, make sure you have gtkglext and gtkglextmm installed (if pSX runs, you have gtkglext, but possibly not gtkglextmm). If problems persist, you might try the WIP version of pSX (check the pSX forums for a link).
- If you're having color problems, you should try a different video driver, or a different version of the video driver you use. Any video driver that supports HW rendering on your vidcard should work (switching drivers between stable/testing and/or switching to foss drivers if available [some ati users] might do the trick). Mesa's SW GL support may work, but it'll probably be slow (dunno how much GL pSX actually uses...).
- Finally, if neither of these problems applies to you, you should probably try the WIP version of pSX - linux support is still new, but improves with every build.
As for the sound problem (skipping and underruns, right?), try increasing your latency - 35-40ms may work. Or better still, figure out a reliable way to reduce alsa's buffers to <21ms (the smallest people with this problem seem to be able to get them).
Please keep in mind that all this info is stuff I gained by simply reading their forums - I'm still building my system, so it'll be a bit before I can actually test.
Hope this helps.

Or did it just seem to work automatically for you? I am using a Logitech Rumblepad 2, the sticks register fine in other games but never worked with any PSX emulator. |
Use QJoypad. It'll get them working. |

I assume you use QJoyPad to set the sticks up as "gradient" axes? How do you configure ePSXe to match that? |

Another vote for pSX, it's the best psx emulator out there! Check http://briancarper.net/2007/08/25/psx/ for Gentoo install instructions. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered |

anyone care to share the info on how to set it up to make both pads work, i tried several times and if it doesn't want to work right, i had to disable pad2 to so that pad1 would work again, ive even tried with Code: | OmniJoy Init: You are using v1.0.0 build 8
* Init pad[0][libpadOmniJoy.so]
OmniJoy: Using Joystick Microsoft X-Box 360 pad for controller 1
OmniJoy: Using Joystick Mega World for controller 2
* Open pad[0]
* Closing pad ... done
* Closing spu ... done
* Shutdown gpu [0]

Is it normal pcsx or pcsx-df ?
normal pcsx hasn't been updated in a long time. _________________ Be good and if you can't be good, be careful. |

Yep, reviving an oldie. More recently it seems the most updated PSX emulator is pSX. It just runs out of the box (assuming you have all the necessary packages and bios.) It even goes all zsnes and has a fast forward button. (SOOOO useful in games like Xenogears, if you've already played through before.) I'm actually trying to get pSX working right now, but having a slight problem.
It seems Gentoo applies the gtkglext package different than other systems. Running
returns that there was an error loading libgtkglext-x11-1.0.so.0 Anyone know a way around this problem? |

I use PadJoy, not omnijoy. You can find it here: http://download.ammoq.com/
epsxe is working great on my amd64 system. It seems to be working better than on my windows laptop, so that's always a plus. |

The exiting thing in PSX emulation is the TWO forks of PSX both get rid of the painful handling of plugins and support 64-bit PCSX-reloaded and PCSX-df. The svn of PCSX-df looks really exciting but PCSX-reloaded is making more solid releases. These packages unfortunately conflict with each other, but I suspect one of these will become definitive package for Playstation emulation |

With epsxe hard masked due to gtk+-1, what should we choose instead? _________________ "Nolite arbitrari quia venerim mittere pacem in terram non veni pacem mittere sed gladium" (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) |

ePSXe 1.7.0 will likely never be ported to linux... so why not run it using wine? I've been doing this for some time and it works great- better performance and less resource usage than the linux port. _________________ ~g
