Has anyone seen the issue where no bzImage was created?
I tried compiling the kernel using the two following methods and both failed:
1) make menuconfig
2) make dep && make clean bzImage modules modules_install
AND
1) make clean
2) make menuconfig
3) make dep
4) make
5) make bzImage
6) make modules
7) make install
make modules_install
I have used the later method succesfully on Red Hat in the past multiple times.
For this installation, I selected the xfs-sources.

I did not see any errors, but was unable to monitor the entire process |

I think "make install" installs the kernel as vmlinuz instead of bzImage.
Also, make sure you've mounted /boot before you copy the kernel.
(This assuming you meant that there's no bzImage in /boot after installation instead of what delta407 said)
Hope this helps |
