Personally, I think the first part of the review describing the 'lab machine' and
power outages should have been scrapped. I don't think power outages have
a place in a review of any software (that isn't UPS related). Sure they could
have been mentioned in passing. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

| Quote: | | The major differences between Gentoo 1.1a and 1.2 revolve around updated packages, numerous bug and security fixes, and of course KDE 3.0 and (big emphasis here) GNOME 2.0. |
I think this is nonmaterial becuase the portage tree isnt split. If the guy just reinstalled 1.1 hed have gnome2 and kde3. In that gnetoo is really uncomparable to most other distros(debian,redhat,mdk,...) cuz version number doesnt mean anthing more then the vre of the install cd. Ppl really shouldnt look at features as part of a certain version. So thats anoter part that should be scrapped. |

If you plan on expressing your views to the reviewer, might I suggest more gender-neutral phrasing? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Why exactly would one want/need a nice robust journaling filesystem in a by default unmounted partition? _________________ | www.gentoo.org | www.tldp.org | www.google.com | |

Have you not seen the file system Gremlins that eat unmounted and unjournaled file systems? Nastiness _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

Gender-neutral, hell -- the author was a woman, not a neuter.
