|
|
For some reason I'm not able to properly load Gentoo using BitTorrent:
http://torrents.gentoo.org/
I selected some popular torrents for download. Azureus finds the tracker, everything looks to be OK, but I can't connect to any seeder or peer. Only other seeders using uTorrent can connect me (remote connections). I just see "Pending" and "Connecting" in Peers tab but no connections are actually established. And this happens with AMD64-livedvd. x86 and AMD64 minimal torrents don't give any connections at all.
What on earth might be the reason? Torrents from The Piratebay, for example, work just fine. Is this an Azureus bug or what. I'm using Azureus 2.5.0.4.

if you get the peers / seed list , then it is not the tracker`s fault. |

Yes, I get the list. What might be causing this? Are other Azureus 2.5.0.4 user able to download Gentoo torrents just fine? |

are you behind a firewall/router do you have required port forwarding setup correctly? _________________ emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "moo" |

Yes, port forwarding is working and I'm not using a FW. I've been using BitTorrent for a long time with no probs. Torrents from PirateBay, for example, seem to work just fine. With Gentoo torrents I get this in Azureus console:
Quote: | {peer} Peer connection closed: failed to establish outgoing connection: Connection timed out: no further information; |
"No further information" is not very informative... |

I also tried with another client: BitTorrent and the result is the same. I'm not able to load Gentoo torrents at all. But for example, StarWreck works just fine. Local and remote connections worked just fine. Gentoo torrents do not.
So now I'm very puzzled ?!? |

I have a request: could someone using NAT and Azureus 2.5.0.4 try this torrent, for example:
http://torrents.gentoo.org/torrents/install-amd64-minimal-2006.1.torrent
Can you establish any connections? Or am I the only one not able to download it?
EDIT: Someone on another forum tried the same torrents with no luck: he was not able to establish basically any connections at all. I think there is something wrong with the tracker. Could someone verify if the Gentoo torrents are working properly? |

Update:
I have now 4 reports from different users that they can't load the Gentoo torrents properly using Azureus 2.5.0.4. I also can't load them with BitTorrent client. One user said that the torrent worked with BitComet client but that didn't work for me.
Is this a tracker issue or some odd incompatibility between various clients? |

Hi Paapaa,
Same here with bittornado.
On the site I see "speed": stalled.
What does it mean?

It seems that the Gentoo torrent tracker is badly misbehaving. I tried to contact curtis119 but he has not replied.
"Stalled" just means that there is no traffic. |

There is no other way to download the live DVDs. Can these be put on the mirrors, at least until the tracker is fixed?
Besides, they aren't that much bigger than the live CDs (around 1 GB).
In the meantime, where can I get the DVD images? |

OK, I got the torrent started. I had to manually disable the tracker and force it to use the Azureus DHT instead. |
